  Like Radio Shack and Best Buy combined and then on steroids. A tech lover's paradise. They have almost everything you can need, from software to parts to appliances to comics to a restaurant. Customer service is okay and return policy is famously strict, and if you apply for a rebate you really have to read the fine print and submit on time. Otherwise a good store that at times has some very good deals.

  I am an Electrical Engineer and have been going to Frys for over 20 years. It was a required stop anytime I went to Santa Clara. Back then you could find someone knowledgeable to answer REALLY technical questions. Now, not so much. Now IF you can find a sales associate, they know less than my non-technical wife. When I go there now - once every couple of years - I go in not needing any more help than directions.
